Grass: What Is It Good For?

Russia has 18.8 million acres of family gardens, which produce US$14 billion worth of products per year, equivalent to over 50% of Russia’s agricultural output, or 2.3% of the country’s GDP (Rosstat 2007b).

The United States, on the other hand, have 27.6 million acres of lawn, which produce a US$30 billion per year lawn care industry (Bormann, Balmori, and Geballe 2001).

Grass - what is it good for? Absolutely nothing. Say it again...

a kindred soul....the lawn care industry really don't want us to think independently so therefore the propaganda of' the weirdos as the ones who won't conform and hand over our hard earned paycheck to make their profit margins even higher! Vegetables in my "lawn" area multiplies the $ from my paycheck. Less gas to drive to the grocery, overpriced due to northern and small region area, and trying to guess if the produce will actually ripen before rotting! Unfortunately many people who never thought resources could dry up have had to acknowledge the truth. Now we see the "American Dream" is not the advertising stunts that have been shoved at us, it's even better, it's only limited by our imagination!!!

    1. Anon, Obviously you "get it". You will be ready for anything, and can create the life you want.

Congratulations. These are difficult realizations to make in today's climate of extreme capitalism.
